As your recording is based on DVD disc and not on tape or tape-based players, the quality of recordings is outstanding. DVD disc is a flexible and portable way of recording and lasts considerably longer than tape.

   Buying Guides for Hitachi Camcorders
Image stabilisation - if you're recording while walking or filming a fast moving object, image stabilisation detects if the camera shakes and steadies the image.
LCD Viewfinder - to see exactly what you're recording or shooting with or without special effects on a tiny 2" - 4" LCD screens. They are great for relieving eyestrain compared to a regular viewfinder.
Zoom –you can move in closer to or magnify the subject/area being captured. Comes in handy for sporting events, weddings, filming nature and other setting.
External microphone - decreases the wind noise while recording fun events, making it adequate for home recording needs.
Recording formats - VHS-C, 8 mm, Hi8, and digital formats affect what you do with your footage, as they dictate the image and sound quality.
