Rotating Brushes - brushes (attached to the vacuum) that help lift dirt from the carpet by cleaning with hot water and cleaning solution.

Heating option - some newer models offer a water heating option i.e. just add water and turn on the heating option button to heat the water, unlike some models, where you have to add the hot water for cleaning.

Temperature - a proper steaming temperature ranging between 200 - 300 ºF is important for effective cleaning. Lower temperature is effective in cleaning and killing germs, though requires longer cleaning time.

Refilling - a durable funnel for filling or large mouthed opening allows you to fill water easily. Boiler units must be cooled down before refilling. To speed up the operation time, fill the boiler with very hot tap water.

Start-up time - The time taken by steam cleaners to have sufficient heat for the cleaning operation. Some cleaners take around 15 - 20 minutes (normal time 5 minutes or less) to be ready for use. |
