Cool touch housing - an insulated plastic covering the exterior of the toaster making it stay cool while in use to prevent scalding.
Defrost/reheat: Defrost feature unfreezes/thaws the bread and then toasts, while reheat uses lower heat to warm previously toasted food.
Cancel Button - when you suddenly want to stop in middle while toasting the bread, the cancel button stops the toasting cycle safely.
Carriage Lever - Putting down the lever lowers the bread in the toasting slot, activating the toasting mechanism, while rising the same stops the toast cycle and lifts up the bread for removal.
Shade Selector - a dial with variable setting allowing you to select the degree of brownness i.e. from light to dark. Some toasters have digital displays with programmable settings (memory) that will toast bread to your liking.
