Cancel Button - when you suddenly want to stop in middle while toasting the bread, the cancel button stops the toasting cycle safely.

Carriage Lever - Putting down the lever lowers the bread in the toasting slot, activating the toasting mechanism, while rising the same stops the toast cycle and lifts up the bread for removal.
